5 ways to secure your Facebook profile in a post-Timeline world

I got Facebook my sophomore year of high school and it has changed immensely in the last six years.  It has probably changed four or five times.  Each time is has gotten a little bit more complicated to use in my opinion.  Now with this new timeline you don’t have to get it unless you want it which I think is a smart idea on there part because I do not like timeline and I know other people don’t like it either.  This timeline has opened up a whole new privacy issue.  It exposes you and you don’t even know it.  It is a timeline of everything you put onto Facebook.  People can find out what you did years ago, sometimes you even forget what you put on there years ago.
This article is beneficial to anyone who is concerned about his or her privacy settings.  It explains how to go private but with the Internet nothing is ever private.  In the article it said that you will have to make the jump from your old profile to the timeline and in that case I am considering deleting it I thought you had a choice but I guess not.
Facebook knows that they are having issues with privacy and that is why they have had to put out this information.  That says something about Facebook, they know they gave a privacy issue and they are just now trying to make people aware of how to become more private.  This should have been all along it is a public site and some people are uncomfortable with putting things up.  My mom just got a Facebook and she never uses it so she barely knows how to work on the site, considering it updates so fast she wont be able to use it at all with this new timeline because she wont be used to it.
All in all I am not to impressed with the changes Facebook has been making, I don’t like that I have to monitor what I put up because when I want to delete something it doesn’t actually delete and future employers will be able to see that and it makes me look bad.
