My name is Johnny Aleksandrs Blaus and I was born on November 23, 1990 at Lutheran General hospital in Park Ridge, IL.  I am currently twenty-one years old and from the city of Chicago, Illinois.  Right now I am a freshmen at Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts and I am undecided on my major at the moment.  I play on the Nichols College men's ice hockey team and wear the number 10.  My hobbies include hanging out with all the guys on the team and buddies from back home in Chicago.  Also during the ice hockey off-season I play professional inline hockey with a few of my friends at home.  I hope to learn new tasks on different applications on my computer and online.  Also I hope to improve my writing skills in these blogs so I can get a higher grader in my writing courses that I am currently taking.

Sidney Crosby

Sidney Crosby is arguably the best player to ever play hockey in the NHL.  Holding all kinds of records in points, assists, goals.   He currently plays on the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Eastern Conference.  That's was until last year wear he was diagnosed with a severe concussion.  Crosby has recently, earlier this year, returned to line-up where everything seemed to be back to normal in his playing notching 12 points in only 8 games of being back on the roster.  Of course until that as of late, were Crosby was hit and re-injured and diagnosed once again with concussion-like symptoms and a soft-tissue injury.  In this article of recent news the penguins talk of his return this year.  http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=614561&navid=DL|NHL|home

Doctors are currently working with Crosby off the ice everyday to help speed up his recovery as fast as possible.  Crosby said this about how he been coping with the whole ordeal, "From what I've been told, this is something pretty commonly linked with concussion symptoms, and in a way that's encouraging. There's no magic to get rid of it but, if this is contributing, this is something we can obviously treat and work on and hopefully it will go away."As for how the entire team is reacting on the subject, they remain hopeful on their captains return so the penguins can make another run at Lord Stanley's Cup.  According to Crosby he is anxious to get back in the swing of being in full season mode going into the second half the NHL's regular season and he excited about the future of the team.  In the article on Tuesday Crosby said, "I just want to get back out there, and I am trying to do everything I can to do that."  The team has been doing well without there superstar center but definitely could use him if they hope to make it deep into the playoffs this year.  NHL Megastar -Crosby won the NHL MVP award, a scoring title, the Stanley Cup and an Olympic gold medal by age 22 -- said he "still isn't where I want to be" and, even with an updated diagnosis, his return to the Penguins' lineup is not imminent.  Crosby definitely is not content with his diagnosis and wants to return but needs to wait until he fully recovered in order to avoid any more injury this season.  This article really interested me because I love hockey and I really want Crosby to return to the line-up so I have been following up with his injury a lot.

About Me

My name is Elizabeth DiBuono. I am 19 years old, and I am the youngest of three children. I have an older sister Kait, and an older brother Patrick. I am a sophomore at Nichols College and I am majoring in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. Aside from going to school, I enjoy playing soccer and I'm taking up lacrosse this coming spring. Prior to this past summer I havent had a job. I worked at the Best Western Royal Plaza for three months over the summer with my bestfriend, Tabatha. It was kind of a joke. We basically got paid to do nothing.
By the end of this course, I hope I will be a capable computer operator because as of right now I'm pretty clueless. I even had a hard time figuring out how to make this blog. So hopefully I'll take in something that will be useful from this class.

About Me

My name is Ryan Redfearn and I am from Hull Massachusetts. I am a freshman here at Nichols and I am a Sports Management major. I have a brother who is a senior in high school and twin sisters that are in fifth grade. I live with my mom in and stepdad in hull and my dad lives in Randolph about forty-five minutes away.  I am originally from Plainville Massachusetts but moved to Hull halfway through my senior year. In order to stay at my high school, King Philip Regional High, I lived with one of my buddies for seven months. The last job I had was over the summer in Hull I worked at a restaurant called Jake’s Seafood where I was a bus boy. My favorite hobby is snowboarding which I’ve been doing for ten years now.

One of my favorite athletes is Robert Griffin III, quarterback and heisman trophy winner from Baylor University. He is a junior in college and has already earned a Bachelors in Political Science and is pursuing his Masters in Communications while also earning a 4.o GPA. He is forging his senior year to enter the NFL Draft, and is predicted to be the second pick taken.  He is also a track star and would have been in the Olympics if it wasn't for a leg injury. He has proven himself in every aspect of his life whether it be athletically or academically and has a biright future ahead of him in the NFL.

What I hope to learn and gain from Digital Applications is a better understanding of the different computer applications that I will be using in a work environment once I am older. Technology is a major part of everyone’s lives now and is used more and more each day. Digital Applications will help prepare myself and make me more experienced with computer programs used in the work environment.

My favorite blogs are on www.barstoolsports.com because of how funny David Portnoy, the “stool president”, talks about current events happening locally and around the US whether it is politics or sports related. It keeps us updated with current events along with adding some entertainment.

Kyle McCafferty

My name is Kyle McCafferty. I am a freshman and majoring in Criminal Justice. I am from Whitman MA and played hockey and lacrosse for my high school and have the best memories from those experiences. After high school i decided to play junior hockey for the Bay State Breakers for two years meeting kids from all over the country and the world. Those experiences have made me into who i am today and do not regret going to school right away. My past work experiences include carpentry for my uncle's company, valet at a funeral home, and also I have worked at a pro shop at an ice rink. My hobbies include hockey, working out, and hanging with friends and family. I hope to gain more knowledge from this course in computers.

The blog i chose is a blog for the Boston Bruins. This blog gives news and updates about the team. From anything like the scores from the previous game to charity events the bruins are holding for one of their many causes. What interested me about the blog was the fact that the Bruins visited the White House today and Tim Thomas, one of only two American born players on the team decided not to attend because if his rights. My view on the situation goes both ways. I agree with Thomas because it is his right as an individual of this country to not attend the White House but also on the other hand he should have probably went with his team to celebrate the winning of the Stanley Cup.

     Hi my name is Ashliy. I was born in Spanish Harlem, New York.  At the age of 7 I moved to Rhode Island, where I finished grade school.  I am now a freshmen, where I major in Criminal Justice Management, even though I do not know what I would like to do after.  I enjoy taking long naps, and trying new foods. Since this course is a requirement, I plan to better understand the different types of software programs on my computer, along with how to use them.
