Hi my name is Jensen Hume I am from Hampton, New
Hampshire. I have lived in New Hampshire my
whole life. I live right next to the ocean and I would never be able to
move away from the ocean. I have a really unique name I have only met one
other person named Jensen and she was 2 years old. I refer to myself as
“the one and only.” My mom found my name in the TV guide; it was the name
of a soap opera star. There were actually two soap stars with the
name. One was Jenson (I don’t know his last name) and he was a boy and
the other was Jensen Buchannan who was a woman. My mom didn’t know
whether or not I was going to be a boy or girl so she decided that it was a
good gender-neutral name.
I have two brothers, Jacob and Josh.
Jacob is 25 and Josh is 18. Hockey is my favorite sport; I come from a
hockey family. I do play field hockey at Nichols College but that is not
my favorite sport, I play to be a part of a team. I am also heavily
involved in Residence Life on campus. I am the HRA (head resident
assistant) of Shamie Hall. I am a psychology major here and I have plans to
become a Resident director at another school so I can get my masters. I
want to get my Ph.D. after I get my masters so in the future I can own my own
practice and be a therapist. I haven’t specialized with what I want to do
for a type of counseling.
Digital applications is a class you are supposed to
take probably before your junior year but I didn’t know that so I am taking it
now. I know that most of the stuff
that we are learning this semester I already know for the most part. I might take some experience away from
this course, which will be helpful in my future endeavors.
A fellow classmate of mine that is also good friend
with recently went to Rome for a semester abroad. Her name is Bri and she has started a blog that I have recently
started to read. I find that reading
about her experience is a fun way to learn about Rome. Also it is reassuring to know that Bri
is doing so well and adapting to the different lifestyle and culture over
there. It may not be a newsworthy Blog but it is a fellow student here at Nichols
and I think everyone should be taking time out of their day to read about it
and learn a little bit of her experiences. http://briiromaitalia2012.wordpress.com/
Hey Jensen,
ReplyDeleteI saw your comment on my blog and I just wanted to thank you very much :)I'm so happy I am here and so happy to be a part of a team again! I really enjoyed reading your post. The little story about how you go your name was interesting. I also find it interesting that you chose to read the blogs of a fellow student's abroad experience. I saw that you plan on going on to get your masters and Ph.D. Have you put any thought as to where you want to go after here for those degrees? I'm so glad that you are in this class with me as well, being the only third year student wouldn't be as good. Hope you got to watch the game yesterday like you commented about and I'll see you tomorrow in class!
Leah
Jensen - I can totally relate to the gender-neutral name! My mother and father did not want to know my gender. So they picked Taylor, which could go either way. I too live extremely close to the ocean and would not and could not have it any other way.
ReplyDeleteYou have everything lines up for what you want to do in the future and I look up to that. Especially when it is someone that is older than I am so I know that as long as I have a plan and stick to it, I should be alright. I always notice when someone has a good head on their shoulders and you seem like an awesome person.
