Apple settles class-action suit over iPhone 4 antenna problem

This article is regarding the antenna problems iPhone owners are facing. Nearly two years after tech blogs screamed "Antennagate!" over problems with the iPhone 4's reception, owners will be getting a little pocket change for their current troubles.
Apple over the weekend settled a class-action lawsuit filed about the issue, promising to pay $15 or give a free case to everyone in the United States who bought one of the wildly popular phones.
Released in June 2010, the slimmer reworking of Apple's smartphone became a huge seller. But soon after it went on sale, some owners began complaining that their phone frequently dropped voice calls.
The culprit, it was ultimately determined, was the antenna, which is wrapped in a band around the phone's edge to help create its slim form. Using what became known as the "death grip," (i.e. holding the phone at a certain spot) caused reception to suffer or cut out entirely. Apple faced several law suits and had clearly upset several customers. They handed out free cases that protected the antenna. They handed out phone cases for three months. There were much less complaints and since the new iPhone 4S came out in October, there have been no further complaints regarding the antenna.
I have an iPhone 4 and I have never had a problem with it. I have had it since April 14th, and I can confidently say that there has been no substantial problem with the way the phone operates. It is definitely my favorite phone that I have had. It provides all the necessary things that a normal flip phone would not. I enjoy all the applications and tools it allows me to use. It navigates anywhere I please, lets me text with a great keyboard, call with fantastic service, manage my schedule, check my calendar for upcoming events, listen and play music, look up facts on the internet, ect. As you can see this phone has had mainly one big fault and it was fixed quickly. I suggest everyone to get an iPhone.

  1. This is very intersting because I can't say that I have had too much of a problem with my Iphone 4 either. My main problem is that ever since I recieved the phone I have not had 3G and I do not know why. I have lost calls but I always believed that was because of the service, never did I actually think it had something to do with antenna. I too love my iphone and would not trade it in for anything unless it was better. I am fine with the regular iphone 4 not the iphone 4S. This phone is basically a mini computer in your hands that travel with you whereever you go and it helps many business people while working. I would too recommend the iphone 4 to anyone.
